As you can infer from the product name, this unit promises efficiency of at least 85%, being 80 Plus Bronze certified. During our tests it provided high efficiency between 81.8% and 86.0%, voltages within the allowed range and very low ripple and noise levels.

Amacrox Free Earth 85PLUS 650 W is a short 5 ½” (14 cm) deep unit, having a 120-mm fan on its bottom , active PFC but no modular cabling system. Models from Free Style 85PLUS series have this feature, and this is the main difference between models from Free Style 85PLUS and Free Earth series. PC-MAX.de Highly respected German review website PC-Max.de reviewed our Calmer 560 and was impressed with the high efficiency of up to 89% and the stable voltage distribution this units brings to the table. Despite the absolute no noise operation it still keeps decently cool for a fanless power supply.

Hardwaresecrets.com Hardware Secrets recently tested our Free Style 650W with 80PLUS Bronze Certification. Despite the highest honor of a Golden Award here is what Gabriel Torres concluded about the unit: “We were really impressed by Amacrox Free Style 650 W: it is an inexpensive yet high-performing power supply. Efficiency was at least at 84% when we pulled up to 80% from its labeled capacity (520 W) and at 82% when it was delivering its full power.

We could easily pull up to 810 W from it at high temperatures, thanks to its highly overspec’ed components – which is always great to see. Of course during this extreme configuration efficiency dropped below the 80% mark.

Voltages were always inside the allowed range and noise and ripple were very low.

Amacrox power supplies are currently being sold mainly in Asia and we anxiously hope they can make their way to America, because it brings a terrific cost/benefit ratio for the average user.”

Technic3D.de German website Technic3D just reviewed Amacrox Calmer 560W and found it outstanding. It reached the honor for an Eco Award for its high efficiency and a Silver Award for its good performance. Technic3D found the power supply perfect for Office- and Silent-PCs due to stable voltage rails and the good overall performance. The no-noise operation does make it predestined for everyone who does not appreciate acoustic noise in the PC but still wants the best performance possible.
